Hawkstone Park played host to an unforgettable weekend of racing as Round 4 of the Bridgestone British Masters delivered fast-paced action, demanding terrain, and one name leading the way in the Amateur MX2 class – Syd Putman.
Coming into the weekend, Syd had already been turning heads with consistent form and rising momentum. But at Hawkstone, he made his intentions clear: he’s not here just to compete — he’s here to win.
Victory Earned, Not Given
Over the course of four fiercely contested motos, Syd delivered a masterclass in consistency and control. His finishes — 41, 45, 41, and 41 — earned him 168 points and the overall win for the round. It was a weekend where every start, every line, and every decision counted, and Syd rose to the occasion in style.
He edged out a strong field that included the likes of Beau Brown and Zac Stealey, both proven riders in their own right. But while others had flashes of brilliance, Syd maintained a steady hand and sharp focus throughout every race.
Mastering Hawkstone’s Challenge
Hawkstone Park is known for its rough, technical surface and physically demanding layout. From deep ruts to slick climbs, it tested riders in every session. Syd’s ability to adapt and ride with intelligence set him apart, making each lap look composed even when the track was anything but.
Behind the scenes, his preparation clearly paid off. The bike setup was dialled in, starts were sharp, and his race management showed the maturity of a rider well beyond the amateur label.
A Big Shift in the Championship
This result is a major boost for Syd’s standing in the overall championship. With only a few rounds left, every point is critical — and 168 points from a single weekend is as strong a statement as any.
