From Dirt Bike Show to Digital Breakthrough: How One Capture in 2018 Still Delivers Today

Back in 2018, we took a chance on something new. It was the final day of the Dirt Bike Show, and instead of simply packing up and heading home, we gave something different a go: we captured part of our exhibition stand as a digital twin — an interactive, immersive 3D model that could be explored online, long after the doors had closed.
At the time, we weren’t sure what to expect. Would anyone view it? Would it help us? Would it just be a flashy gimmick?
Fast forward to today — and the numbers speak for themselves.
Nearly 25,000 unique visitors later...
That digital model continues to generate engagement, start conversations, and — most importantly — bring in new customers. It’s still being viewed, shared, and used as a reference point seven years after the event.
Had we done what we’d always done — packed up, gone home, and moved on — those 25,000 people would never have stepped into our stand. That’s 25,000 missed chances to showcase who we are, what we do, and how we do it differently.
A Mindset Shift
That single experience changed the way we look at marketing. We now see digital twins as more than just a tech trend — they’re a powerful, long-term asset. They allow people to engage with our builds, our brand, and our standards without having to step inside a van or visit us at HQ.
It’s no surprise that since then, we’ve gone on to create immersive models of our headquarters, our flagship vehicles like the White Edition and Volvo World Cruiser, and more. We’re no longer asking why — we’re asking what’s next?
Huge thanks to Leighton
We can't thank Leighton Morris enough for opening our eyes to this unique form of marketing. His belief in immersive technology and accessibility-driven innovation showed us what’s possible — and we’ve never looked back.
See It For Yourself
If you haven’t yet explored the original 2018 Dirt Bike Show model — or our latest builds — we’d love to show you what’s possible when innovation and craftsmanship come together.
Because sometimes, the best conversations start after the doors have closed.
